About the Boulogne-sur-Mer landscape
Sotheby’s New York sale of 4 November 2011 catalogued this work by Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot as Boulogne-sur-Mer, sentier creux dominé par les arbres. The oil on canvas measures 27 × 22.2 cm. The catalogue does not provide a secure date.
A sunken path beneath the trees
A dark path starts in the foreground and rises towards a close group of trees. A small figure in blue with a white head covering walks at the centre. The vertical trunks frame the route and deepen the narrow passage.
A palette of greens and greys
Pale grass borders the brown path, while dense foliage fills the upper half. A light grey sky appears between the branches. Visible brushwork and tonal contrasts give the small landscape its rhythm.

Our frames measure 1.7 cm on each side. For a 40x60 cm painting, the total framed size is therefore 43.4 x 63.4 cm.
Canvas 100% polyester (285 g/m²), UV-resistant and solvent-free inks, safe for children and allergy sufferers. The canvases are mounted on a 2 cm thick wooden frame (4 cm for very large formats).
