Complementary views reveal the scaled back, broad ventral plates, elongated head and large eye. Precisely drawn scales and applied colour against an almost bare ground serve the natural-history observation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eAn earlier name for the boomslang\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eBucephalus capensis\u003c\/em\u003e is a historical name now treated as a synonym of \u003cem\u003eDispholidus typus\u003c\/em\u003e, the boomslang.
