The poetic reflection of "The mirror": Guillermo Laborde's sensitivity
The composition of The mirror captures a subtle play of shapes and colors where the reflection becomes subject and decor. The shades, nuanced and warm, are arranged around a luminous center that draws the eye and suggests an intimate, almost theatrical atmosphere. The technique, both precise and free, highlights textures and contrasts, giving the whole a delicate modernity. Contemplating this work reveals a harmonious tension between figuration and stylization, inviting visual meditation and escape. This art print The mirror faithfully reproduces this unique presence and its chromatic intensity.
Guillermo Laborde, master of the modernist language
Guillermo Laborde, a Uruguayan artist active in the early 20th century, distinguished himself with a modern approach blending painting, design, and decorative arts. Influenced by the avant-garde movements of his time, he explored the simplification of forms, rich chromatics, and the relationship between image and space. As a poster, decor, and canvas creator, Laborde contributed to renewing visual aesthetics in Uruguay and Latin America, leaving a recognized legacy for his graphic quality and sense of composition. This art print The mirror naturally fits into this artistic trajectory, illustrating his taste for functional elegance.
