Discover the story behind this artwork
Discover the world of vintage advertisements with this vintage advertising poster, praising the merits of the famous sterilized water L’Odor, a true preventive remedy against the epidemics of the time.
This poster with a striking style adopts the graphic codes of the early 20th century: deep blue background, bold typography, asserted health promises – “digestive, hygienic, anti-microbial.” The bottle stands proudly in the center, framed, with a label detailing the Cartault system, supposed to guarantee the perfect purity of this sterilized table water.
A art print with a medical and assertive tone
This vintage advertising poster reflects an era when the virtues of hygiene were at the heart of commercial strategies. It evokes the history of public health, the first sanitary standards, and the great bottling houses like L. Dubois in Cherbourg. Its direct layout and pharmaceutical aesthetic make it an unusual and strong decorative object.
Perfect for a retro kitchen, a wellness shop, a bar of original waters, or any decoration inspired by advertisements of yesteryear.
